Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is hiring an on-site Fire Alarm/Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and install fire alarm and life-safety systems at customer sites throughout the St. Louis area. You will interpret blueprints, follow technical manuals, and provide top-tier customer service.

Responsibilities include on-call rotations, training others, upselling service enhancements, and ensuring facilities run efficiently with precise documentation and support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers and basic IT.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical labor (up to 50–70 lbs) and work at heights.
• Flexible hours including weekends; overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center with equipment/system details.
• Contact customer representative to diagnose problems; perform service and repairs on fire alarm and related systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specs, and manuals; follow troubleshooting procedures.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install fire & life safety systems (e.g., SimplexGrinnell) at customer sites.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction; complete service documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations; mentor teammates and provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency.
