Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems and energy efficiency, seeks personnel for electronic system installation tasks. You will assist with installation, read blueprints, follow directions, and ensure safety with proper gear.

The role involves carrying equipment, climbing, and performing physically demanding work, with potential shift variations. A valid driver’s license and a drug/background check are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
• Construction experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
• Observe the actions of the responsible person(s) and apply as directed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and read and understand complex blueprints and specifications used in installation activities.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
• Daily submission of required paperwork.
