Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is hiring an entry-level installer to assist the responsible person with install tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems, following instructions and helping with startup through testing.

The role requires reading blueprints, lifting up to 50–70 lbs, climbing ladders, wearing safety gear, possible weekend shifts, and completing daily paperwork; benefits provided, equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to read and understand complex blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Drug screen and background check required.
• Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and performing physical labor.
• Able to climb ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 ft.
• Demonstrates a high level of customer service.
• Low voltage experience is a plus.
• 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of electronic systems from start-up through final testing.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and read complex blueprints and diagrams.
• Move equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
• Work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Pick up and dispose of trash related to SimplexGrinnell work.
• Wear safety equipment including hard hats and boots.
• May work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Submit required daily paperwork.
