Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an entry-level install technician to assist with the installation and setup of electronic product lines and systems. You will follow detailed instructions, read blueprints, and help with testing while maintaining safety and organization on site.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist the responsible person with installation related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
• Observe actions of responsible personnel and apply as directed.
• Assist with installation from start-up through final testing.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and dispose of trash properly.
• Wear required safety equipment and be prepared to work alternate shifts or weekends.
• Submit required paperwork daily.
