Job summary

Johnson Controls in Sneads Ferry, NC is hiring for a field technician to install, program, configure, and service fire alarm and suppression systems at customer sites.

The role requires reading blueprints, wiring, testing, commissioning devices, and coordinating with multiple trades. Travel and on-call shifts may be required; a valid driver’s license and OSHA familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operation/product manuals.
• Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
• Able to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Execute projects on time and within installation hours; coordinate with project manager to resolve discrepancies.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, and submittals; coordinate with trades to optimize installation time.
• Train customers on functional operation; conduct simulations and answer questions.
• Maintain customer service and complete project documentation promptly.
• Adhere to safety policies; participate in on-call rotation.
• Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and work with a team.
