Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field installer/technician to install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites in Hickory, NC. You will read blueprints, coordinate with trades, and train customers on operation of equipment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of low voltage fire/life safety experience. Occasional overtime and on-call rotations are expected, with a competitive hourly pay and benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Three years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Ability to obtain licenses per codes and operate tools and test equipment.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50-70 lbs and climbing ladders or working at height.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Coordinate with project manager and other trades to optimize installation time.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and manuals; attend site meetings.
• Instruct customers on operation, conduct simulations, and answer questions.
• Maintain customer satisfaction through professional communication and documentation.
