Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to verify that customers' fire alarm systems operate correctly and meet code requirements. You will test, inspect, and troubleshoot panels, detectors, and related devices at customer sites, coordinating with owners and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical experience preferred.
• Valid electrical license per state requirements.
• NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection/testing/layout.
• 3+ years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire alarm systems.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs per NFPA 72 and company standards.
• Identify code deficiencies and provide clear, professional recommendations for system improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams to ensure timely service.
• Document service activities accurately, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff regarding status and next steps.
