Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring Inspectors to perform routine inspections, testing and maintenance on fire alarm product lines. You will work with low voltage wiring, document actions on mobile devices, and complete service acknowledgments with precision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to lift 70 lbs, and a valid driver’s license. NICET I must be obtained within 1 year. The role may require weekend shifts to meet client needs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must obtain NICET I within 1 year of employment.
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; smartphone skills.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using provided tools.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices for operation of low voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop or hard copy.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
• Perform work in difficult positions; climb ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer needs.
