Job summary

iLocatum in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare bid proposals and estimates for fire alarm construction projects. You will read and interpret drawings and specs, attend site walk-throughs, assess conditions, and translate findings into accurate pricing.

Proficiency with Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft Office is required, along with strong math and analytical skills. Candidates typically have 1–5 years of estimating or related field experience and a high school

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting fire alarm drawings and construction documents.

• Strong math and analytical skills, with the ability to complete quantity surveys and pricing under deadline pressure.
• 1 to 5 years of estimating or related field experience.
• A High School Diploma is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid proposals and estimates across all phases of fire alarm construction projects.
• Attend job site walk-throughs, assess site conditions, and factor those variables into your pricing.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure estimates reflect real-world costs and timelines.
• You will work closely across internal departments and help develop the sales strategies that bring projects to the table.

Your fire alarm estimates will directly shape our client's growth in one of the most technically specialized corners of the construction industry.

What You Must Bring

• Experience reading and interpreting fire alarm drawings and construction documents. You can move through plans and specs with confidence, catch what others miss, and translate them into accurate cost estimates.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft Office. These are the tools you will use daily.
• Strong math and analytical skills, with the ability to complete quantity surveys and pricing under deadline pressure.
• 1 to 5 years of estimating or related field experience. A High School Diploma is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary of $90,000 to $100,000. Full benefits including medical, dental, and vision. This is primarily an office-based role with occasional job site visits.
