Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. seeks a Fire Alarm Designer to manage all aspects of fire alarm, VESDA, and special hazard system design for our projects. The role involves coordinating with customers and internal teams, developing schedules, and supporting BOMs and scheduling.

The candidate will work with field Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure project milestones are met and will contribute to 2D fire protection design work as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Experience in large construction projects.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection design.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm, VESDA, clean agent, and control systems.
• Coordinate project communications with customers and internal teams.
• Develop design schedules to meet milestones and progress.
• Assist with design, bill of materials, and scheduling.
• Collaborate with field Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Operate 2D fire protection designs as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Job Summary

Northstar is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer. In this position you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the work assigned to include fire alarm, VESDA, and special hazard systems and components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for design of fire alarm, VESDA, clean agent, and control systems.
• Responsible for assisting in all communication regarding the project status with both customer base as well as the internal communications.
• Assist in design schedules to meet the required schedule work in progress meetings and milestones.
• Assist with design, bill of materials, and scheduling as needed.
• Work with field Superintendents and Project Managers for project needs and progress.
• Operate AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Complete fire protection 2D designs as needed.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Experience in large construction projects preferred.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection design preferred.
• Experience in high paced, large construction projects preferred.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
