Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, build, and operate scalable systems for Amazon Stores FinTech. You will partner with product managers and finance users to deliver end-to-end features on the Financial Reporting & Insights platform.

You will work across the stack, implement reliable tests, drive engineering best practices, and participate in on-call support to ensure high availability of critical financial systems for stores customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered or distributed software.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Clarify requirements with product managers and finance users to design scoped technical solutions.
• Own features end to end, including design, development, reviews, testing and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code with unit, integration and regression tests.
• Drive engineering excellence through design reviews and best practices.
• Build and operate scalable AWS services and related infrastructure.
• Maintain system reliability with monitoring, alarms and runbooks.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues and implement lasting fixes.
• Learn financial reporting concepts to reflect business needs in solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to process improvements.
