Job summary

Amazon Stores FinTech is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build scalable systems for Amazon Stores Finance Customers. You will own features end to end, from design through deployment, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence on AWS data pipelines.

You will partner with product managers and finance users, write clean code with tests, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and finance users to clarify requirements and contribute to technical designs.
• Own features end to end, including low-level design, development, code reviews, testing, and production deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code with automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
• Build and operate scalable data pipelines and services on AWS (Glue, EMR, SNS, SQS, EC2, ECS, Lambda).
• Drive engineering excellence and a collaborative team culture through design reviews and best practices.
• Champion operational excellence by keeping systems available and reliable with monitoring, runbooks, and SOPs.
• Resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis with lasting fixes.
• Understand financial reporting concepts within Amazon's cadence to reflect business needs.
• Participate in rotational on-call support for critical systems.
