Job summary

Aquent is partnering with a leader in the financial services industry to recruit a senior software engineer. You will build scalable .NET services, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms supporting billions of daily transactions.

Work involves collaborating with architects and teams to deliver high-quality solutions, leveraging GenAI tools and modern data stores, and driving modernisation initiatives across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing scalable .NET, cloud-based, or web services applications that support high-volume transactions in highly available environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and event-driven applications using .NET and Kafka, with knowledge of distributed systems, stream processing, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms and deployment environments such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• 2+ years of experience with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other NoSQL/relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML implementations and GenAI coding assistants in SDLC workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of scalable, resilient, event-driven applications using .NET, Kafka, and cloud-native patterns.
• Build and modernize high-volume services, APIs, and distributed capabilities for billions of transactions.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to translate complex requirements into high-quality solutions.
• Leverage GenAI coding assistants to accelerate implementation, testing, reviews, scripting, and documentation while ensuring quality.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices and prompt engineering to improve productivity and outcomes.
• Strengthen engineering quality through automated testing, code reviews, performance analysis, and production readiness.
• Support modernization by migrating legacy capabilities to distributed .NET services and cloud-native platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers to adopt repeatable AI-assisted development across the organization.
