Job summary

Aquent Talent is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and implement scalable, event-driven applications using .NET, Kafka, and cloud-native architectures for ultra-high-volume financial systems.

You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineers to translate complex requirements into robust solutions, leveraging GenAI tools and AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering using .NET and cloud-based services for high-volume transactions.
• Experience designing scalable, event-driven apps with .NET and Kafka in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of IBM MQ, Kafka, Splunk, JSON/XML, caching, performance analysis, and 12-Factor App.
• 4+ years building cloud-native apps using microservices, CI/CD, and container tech.
• Experience with PCF, AWS, or GCP deployments in production.
• 2+ years with databases like MongoDB, Aerospike, PostgreSQL or similar.
• 1+ years AI/ML implementation or AI-assisted engineering.
• Hands-on with generative AI platforms (GPT, Claude, Gemini, PaLM) and AI-assisted SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of scalable, resilient, event-driven apps using .NET, Kafka, and cloud-native patterns.
• Develop high-volume services, APIs, and distributed capabilities for billions of transactions.
• Collaborate with architects and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Leverage GenAI coding assistants to accelerate implementation, testing, and reviews while ensuring quality.
• Apply prompt engineering and AI-driven practices to improve team productivity.
• Strengthen quality with automated tests, code reviews, observability, and production readiness.
• Support modernization by migrating legacy capabilities to distributed .NET services and cloud platforms.
• Work with engineers in a team environment to adopt AI-assisted development across the org.
