Brex’s Legal team supports growth by providing strategic advice across regulatory, privacy, contracts, and product design for spend management software. You’ll translate complex financial regulations into practical product decisions while partnering with engineering, product, and design from ideation through launch.

Qualifications

• 4+ years working experience in a combination of law firms and technology or fintech companies, ideally advising on credit card, lending, and commercial matters for regulated financial or technology products.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and international credit, lending, and card laws and regulations, including TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, UDAP/UDAAP, card network rules, and required disclosures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both internal and external.
• Ownership mentality and comfort working on complex matters requiring sound judgement.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Law degree and admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
• Willingness to be a team player under the banner of One Brex.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded legal partner to engineering, product, and design teams building spend management software—advising in real time as features are designed.
• Provide pragmatic, actionable advice on requirements and best practices for existing and new spend management software features.
• Advise on regulatory and commercial implications of product architecture, data flows, automation and AI features, integrations, and design decisions.
• Advise cross-functional partners on critical credit, lending, and card network regulatory questions.
• Advise on software, data privacy, and product regulatory questions.
• Draft, update, and maintain customer agreements, terms, disclosures, and feature-level terms for spend management software.
• Support data handling, integration, and partner arrangements as they relate to product launches.
