Job summary

Box, Inc. in Redwood City seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a FinOps-focused team driving cloud spend forecasting and optimization for public cloud and AI services.

You will guide mid-to-senior engineers and data scientists, owning tooling and models on GCP/BigQuery, and translating cost signals into strategic insights for executives. Hybrid work and leadership impact are key.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading mid-to-senior ICs.
• Fluency in Python, BigQuery and SQL.
• Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent.
• Proven track record managing and analyzing very large datasets for forecasts.
• Executive-ready communicator who can tailor topics for engineers to C-suite.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the forecast for Box’s cloud spend and AI services.
• Lead a team to build scalable tooling, pipelines, and models on GCP/BigQuery and Python/SQL.
• Translate usage, telemetry, and cost signals into insights for executives.
• Identify optimization initiatives and drive ROI while protecting outcomes.
• Establish dashboards and operating rhythms to accelerate decision-making.
• Coach senior ICs and maintain high code quality and analytical rigor.
• Collaborate with Cloud Ops, SRE, Data, and Finance to align plans.
