Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a FinOps leader to bridge finance, engineering, and operations, aligning cloud investments with maximum business value. This strategic role defines cloud financial management roadmaps and implements cost reduction measures.

Ideal candidates have 8–12+ years in cloud cost management, strong analytics, and hands-on delivery experience with AI-enabled optimization at scale. Travel up to 80% is expected for a mix of engagements.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in cloud cost management and FinOps practice development.
• FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Engineer certification preferred.
• Demonstrated cloud cost savings delivery in prior engagements.
• Strong data analytics and visualization skills (SQL, PowerBI or equivalent).
• Federal FinOps experience helpful but not required; cost optimization at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute FinOps strategies aligned with goals and governance.
• Create FinOps roadmaps embedding cost-conscious practices into lifecycles.
• Design KPI frameworks with targets and accountability.
• Establish governance for tagging, budgeting, and resource accountability.
• Drive automation and transparency in cost reporting and forecasting.
