Job summary

Box is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our FinOps team in a role that blends hands-on engineering with leadership across cloud cost and usage systems.

You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, processing engines, and backend services while coaching engineers in design reviews and release practices. This position emphasizes collaboration across engineering and finance teams in a fast-paced AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering APIs.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS valued).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and building CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own forecasting, monitoring, and alerting systems for cloud, SaaS, and AI cost and usage.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, processing engines, backend services, APIs, and frontends.
• Design scalable systems and evaluate trade-offs as complexity grows.
• Establish engineering practices for design reviews, testing, code review, and release processes.
