Job summary

MCC Label in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Finishing Utility - Slitter Helper to support production of premium labels. You will monitor print and seam quality, remove defective material, and splice rolls per specification to keep line throughput steady.

Role requires basic arithmetic, familiarity with Windows-based applications, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You will record data in the company system and participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for label counts and conversions.
• Proficiency with simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Check print and seam quality continually.
• Remove defective material and splice roll web per spec.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedures as needed.
• Handle rolls and palletize them to avoid damage.
• Understand basic printing and seam defects.
• Record data on designated paperwork and in the company operating system.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Continuously checks for print and seam quality.
• Removes defective material and splices the roll web back together per the specification.
• Utilizes a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedure (tools are used at other times as necessary).
• Handles rolls and palletizes them accordingly as to not cause damage to them.
• Must understand basic printing and seam related defects.
• Recording and entering data on designated paperwork as well as in the company operation system.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Must be able regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
