Qualifications

  • Read and understand blueprints and comply with Smith+Neb policies and FDA/QSR standards.
  • Complete required training on time and perform barcode scanning.
  • Work with the team and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Perform basic maintenance and keep the work area clean.

Responsibilities

This position requires a person to transform components from a machined state to a complete, finished product while working in a team environment.

  • Use microscopes and other optical and mechanical devices in coordination for finishing.
  • Perform simple measurements using micrometers, verniers and optical comparators.
  • Operate electro-polish, bead-blast, heat treat, cleaning and degreasing equipment.
  • Mark product identification, operate label‑making equipment, and package products.
  • When required, operate Laser Marking system to manufacture product per print.
  • When required, operate Laser Welding equipment to manufacture product per print.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Complete and understand documentation needed to comply with Smith+Neb policies, Quality Manual and procedures including FDA, QSR and various domestic and international standards, and company policies. Complete assigned training on time.
  • Perform labor transactions and barcode scanning.
  • Work in a team environment using communication, listening, and continuous improvement participation.
  • Perform simple maintenance as required and keep the work area clean.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to successfully achieve certified operator status where applicable.
  • Must read/write English, have basic math skills, show good attention to detail with paperwork; legible handwriting is required; must complete simple inspections.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Experience: 0–6 months in medical devices is required.
  • Physical demands: stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
