Overview

This position requires a person to transform components from a raw material state to a complete product through the molding process while working in a team environment. Must comply with Smith+Naphew policies and procedures and adhere to safety and cleanliness practices.

This position works under moderate supervision. Must perform other assignments inside and outside of a clean room environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect mold and equipment prior to installing into mold machine.
  • Set up, operate, and inspect product produced on molding equipment.
  • Verify equipment function; ejector switch, mold opening/closing, side core opening/closing, abnormal noise, water leakage – bring to attention of engineers and PM tech.
  • Use appropriate inspection equipment.
  • Complete and understand documentation needed to comply with Smith+Naphew policies, quality manual and procedures including FDA, QSR and various domestic & international standards and regulations, company policies, and complete assigned training on time.
  • Labor transactions and barcode scanning.
  • Work in a team environment using communication, listening, and participation in developing improvements on products and processes. Focus on safety, cleanliness of equipment and company product; perform simple maintenance as required and keep work area clean.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must achieve certified operator status where applicable.
  • Must be able to read/write English, have basic math skills, show good attention to detail with paperwork; legible handwriting a must. Must complete simple inspections.
  • 0–6 months experience in medical device manufacturing required.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
