Job summary

Solage in Calistoga, CA seeks a Wine Program Leader to craft a distinctive wine list and elevate guest satisfaction, sales, and profitability. You will ensure wine service excellence beyond expectations and support the management team in strategic planning for the wine program.

You will train staff on beverage knowledge, oversee wine quality checks, and maintain comprehensive knowledge of brands, by-the-glass offerings, bottle selections, and glassware. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour plus tips.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a comparable fine-dining environment.
• Knowledge of wine, cocktail, and beer menus and the ability to service them accordingly.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the management team in developing and implementing the strategic plan and vision for the wine program.
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure guest service standards within wine and beverage operations.
• Maintain the integrity of the wine program through quality checks of opened wines by the glass.
• Maintain knowledge of brands, wine descriptions, bottle selections, glassware, garnishes, bar menu items, and pricing.
• Assist in training staff on beverage knowledge and wine systems.
• Attend wine and beverage tastings and seminars for continuous education.
