Job summary

Smith & Wollensky is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead a designated FOH service department in a demanding fine dining environment. You will hire, schedule, train, coach, and review staff, ensuring excellence in guest service and adherence to safety and alcohol policies.

You will supervise dining room, bar, and related service areas, coordinating with culinary leadership to deliver polished service and consistent experiences for guests.

Qualifications

• Hospitality degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification and Illinois-approved responsible alcohol service certification required or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Prior restaurant supervisory or management experience strongly preferred, particularly in upscale or fine dining.

Responsibilities

• Lead FOH departments with the GM and AGM to maintain service standards and staffing.
• Hire, schedule, train, coach, counsel, and conduct performance reviews for FOH staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies; manage guest recovery and guest relations.
• Coordinate with culinary leadership to ensure smooth communication between dining room, bar, and kitchen.
• Oversee beverage and service operations when assigned to the bar department, including inventory controls.
