Fine Art Packer

Description
Cadogan Tate Chicago has an immediate opening for a Fine Art Packer.

The essential duties of this role are to work on all aspects of the packing of personal effects, art and antiques, under the management of immediate supervisor.


Key Responsibilities
  • Pack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storage
  • Proper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furniture
  • Ensure all items are packed proficiently to reduce the risk of breakages at all times
  • Design antiquities, antiques, furniture, et all
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with a small crew
  • Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job
  • Support the Warehouse Team when needed, as directed by the Warehouse Manager
  • When required to start or end your day at a location other than Cadogan Tate New York Limited, you have to complete a manual time sheet and to have this signed by the supervisor or your manager within 24 hours of the start or end of your day
  • Collections and deliveries on a local basis when required
  • Assist with all paperwork when on site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for goods
General
  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures, and all other Company policies and procedures in place
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • To act at all times in the best interests of Cadogan Tate, its customers and its employees

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • High school diploma / GED required
  • Some logistical, warehousing and art handling experience, including packing
  • Knowledge of proper inventory management protocol in the warehouse so that when goods are moved for safety the new locations are correctly amended and noted
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Some familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Solid communication and multitasking skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting
  • Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable in a results-driven workplace
  • Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary warehouse equipment
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead
