Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, higher education administration, or a related field, with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience.
• Ability to develop and manage complex budgets, forecast, and advise senior leaders on resource allocation and risk.
• Experience establishing internal controls, reconciling activity, and ensuring compliance.
• Supervisory experience including staff development and accountability standards.
• Strong communication of financial information to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual operating budget development, management, and monitoring.
• Develop multiyear forecasts and scenario analyses to support long-term planning.
• Prepare budget-to-actual analyses and recommend timely adjustments.
• Advise leadership on funding strategies, program investments, and financial impact of initiatives.
• Identify cost savings, efficiencies, and revenue opportunities without compromising service quality.
• Coordinate budget submissions with central university offices.
• Monitor expenditures, ensure reconciliation, and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Provide financial training and guidance to Student Life directors and staff.
• Lead Workday and related financial system enhancements and reporting.
