Job summary

University of North Texas at Dallas is seeking an Associate Vice President of Financial Planning, Analysis, Strategy to serve as the primary advisor to the CFO. The AVP will oversee Budget Office, Sponsored Projects, Accounting Reporting, Student Business Services, Property Management, and Central Receiving, driving long-range planning and resource allocation.

The role requires a strong background in public university finance, strategic finance, and advanced modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field with 10+ years of finance management experience.
• Experience in public university finance operations, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytic abilities to advise senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop presentation materials, reports, and financial analyses for leadership meetings (Cabinet, Chancellor, Board of Regents).
• Oversee Budget Office, Sponsored Projects, Accounting Reporting, Student Business Services, Property Management, and Central Receiving.
• Ensure internal controls, contract reviews, and process improvements.
• Forecast revenues and expenditures; monitor performance and advise on corrective actions.
• Lead and develop staff; provide strategic thought leadership in long-range planning and budget execution.
• Inform capital assumptions and coordinate end-to-end budgeting (AOP).
• Serve as acting CFO if needed and communicate with internal/external stakeholders.
