Job summary

Utah Tech University seeks an Executive Director of Business Services to serve as Treasurer and lead core financial operations, including accounting, reporting, A/P, A/R, and treasury functions. You will ensure integrity of financial records, internal controls, and compliance with regulations.

The role partners with the AVP and cross-campus teams to improve processes, optimize ERP systems (Banner), and mentor high-performing staff towards operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Five years of direct accounting experience with increasing responsibility, including leadership.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards for higher education.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting processes.
• Familiarity with Banner modules, such as FR, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for accounting, student finance, A/P, A/R, fixed assets and financial reporting.
• Oversee treasury activities including cash management and banking relationships.
• Coordinate annual financial statements and external audits.
• Maintain internal controls and financial policies; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead year-end close and support for financial statements.
• Ensure governance of chart of accounts and approval workflows; retention policies.
• Provide training to campus budget officers on policies and systems.
• Represent Business Services on campus committees and initiatives.
• Act as second-in-command to the AVP and ensure continuity in absence.
