Job summary

The University of Texas System Administration in Austin seeks an experienced leader to manage resource planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting. You will advise institutional leaders, ensure alignment with policy, and support long-range fiscal planning across UT System agencies.

Responsibilities include producing MFRs, AFC analyses, and ad hoc reports for executives and the Board of Regents, while guiding cross‑functional teams toward transparent financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field and 10 years of progressively responsible experience in budget development, financial planning, or public finance, preferably in higher education or government.
• 3 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UT System’s budget development and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with policy, strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with advising UT institutions on forecasting for short and long-range financial performance providing analysis to support data-driven decision making.
• Prepare the Monthly Financial Reports (MFR) including projections and the annual Analysis of Financial Condition (AFC) for executive leadership, the Board of Regents and institutional leaders.
• Align with and support the UT System’s legislative appropriation request process and various legislative analysis required for UT institutions and UT System Administration.
• Develop ad hoc reports as needed for the Chief Budget Officer when requested by the Board of Regents and or other executive management.
