Qualifications

  • Experience with government financial processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, audit, and process complex financial transactions to ensure accurate recording of data.
  • Assist with federal/state grants administration, monitoring expenditures, and grantor reporting.
  • Create and maintain financial worksheets and regular reports for City staff and external agencies.
  • Update departmental processes for financial metrics and reporting tools.
  • Communicate with city staff, vendors, and external agencies to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Manage accounts receivable/payable processes, invoicing, and payments; handle City P-Card duties if assigned.

Apply now to join an organization where you truly make a difference.Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications:The City Treasurer’s Department is seeking a Financial Specialist II to assist with departmental projects and daily duties. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and will serve as a key member of the City Treasurer.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:-Monitor, track, audit, and process complex reoccurring customer financial transactions for a department or division to ensure accurate and timely recording of data by developing and analyzing reports, transmitting files, performing reconciliations, summarizing financial information, documenting and recommending needed changes, troubleshooting issues, adjusting, researching and resolving problems/errors/omissions.-Assist with the financial administration and reporting of routine federal and state grants which includes the monitoring of grant expenditures and revenues and ensuring compliance with the prescribed grantor requirements; communication with grantor agencies and grantee departments on federal and state guidelines and procedures, contracts, budget amendments, awards, compliance with legal, administrative, and budgetary requirements, and the research, development, and summarization of financial information for reporting to grantor agencies and reimbursement requests.-Create, review and maintain financial worksheets and regular reports to support city staff, department, and/or external agencies.-Update and create departmental processes related to the use of system for financial metrics.-Communicate with city employees, vendors, external agencies, and internal and/or external customers regarding accounts, services, managing budgeted funds, discussing and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance federal, state, and city regulations and policies.-Manage the collection of account receivables and payables by creating and processing invoices, collecting and recording payments, and maintaining customer financial agreements.-May be responsible for managing departmental City P-Card.-May supervise, train, and assist subordinate employees. Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge, and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.
