Job summary

State of Missouri in Springfield, MO is seeking a financial services technician to provide routine administrative and paraprofessional support across financial services functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and asset management.

You will review documents, ensure proper coding, perform inventories, and generate financial reports under moderate supervision. Strong attention to detail and basic accounting software skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.

Responsibilities

• Collect and sort financial related documents and supporting information; verify correct accounting transaction and/or vendor information.
• Review and process documents such as expense vouchers, invoices, purchase orders and similar documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding of financial transactions; specialized accounting software will be used.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
• Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
• Compile basic statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, and accounts payable and receivable.
• Conduct physical inventories of consumable and capital/fixed assets, and process necessary documentation and monitoring of these records.
• Receive investigations, process, and maintain database records for properly damage reimbursement and generate reports.
• Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
