Job summary

SmartBank is seeking an entry-level Financial Service Representative for our Franklin, TN office. You will assist clients with banking services, open and maintain accounts, process transactions, and answer questions about products and services.

Work with a Financial Center Manager to deliver exceptional client experiences while promoting SmartBank’s solutions and staying compliant with policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic banking and lending concepts to explain to clients.
• Experience or understanding of investments and ability to refer to investment services.
• Strong customer service skills; ability to build relationships and resolve concerns.
• Familiarity with insurance products and connecting clients with coverage options.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and records.
• Strong verbal and written communication; comfortable with client interactions in person or by phone.
• Ability to learn and use banking software and internal systems.

Role Description

The Financial Service Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Franklin, TN. This role is responsible for assisting clients with a wide range of banking services, including opening and maintaining accounts, processing transactions, and answering questions about products and services. The Financial Service Representative will engage with clients in person and by phone, provide needs-based financial guidance, and refer clients to appropriate banking, investment, and insurance solutions. Typical day-to-day tasks include handling deposits and withdrawals, updating client information, resolving account issues, and promoting SmartBank’s products and services in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role collaborates with branch leadership and team members to ensure a positive client experience and support branch performance goals.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of finance and financial services, with the ability to explain basic banking and lending concepts to clients.
• Experience or understanding of investments, including the ability to recognize client needs and refer to appropriate investment services or specialists.
• Customer service skills, with a proven ability to build relationships, handle inquiries, and resolve concerns in a professional, client-centered manner.
• Familiarity with insurance products and the capacity to identify opportunities to connect clients with suitable coverage options.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions, documentation, and client records.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort interacting with clients in person and by phone.
• Ability to learn and use banking software, digital tools, and internal systems efficiently.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in retail banking, financial services, or a client-facing role is beneficial.
