Job summary

ING Americas Finance Department in New York seeks a Financial Reporting Associate to join the Financial Accounting Team. You will leverage advanced data analysis and BI tools to optimize reporting workflows for global wholesale banking products and regulatory disclosures.

The role involves building concentric dashboards, performing deep-dive variance analyses, and collaborating across Finance, Risk, Treasury, and auditors.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in financial reporting or regulatory reporting with data visualization experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts for Wholesale Banking; IFRS and ECB/FINREP knowledge preferred.
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience building interactive Power BI dashboards; data modeling and mapping unstructured data.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SQL or Python for backend data manipulation is a plus.
• Open mindset toward AI tools to accelerate coding and automate routine documentation.
• Accountability for quality, reliability, and audit trails of financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Reporting delivery: End-to-end production of Head-Office Consolidated Financials and ECB Regulatory Reporting.
• BI dashboard development: Build and optimize Power BI dashboards from core ledgers like Oracle PeopleSoft and SAP.
• Data-driven variance analysis: Deep-dive balance sheet and income statement analyses to explain movements.
• UAT & project testing: Participate in UAT and validation for reporting projects and migrations.
• Process optimization: Reduce manual spreadsheets by designing clean data pipelines and automated checks.
• Financial data ownership: Ensure data mappings are clean and well-documented for audit trails.
• Stakeholder liaison: Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Front Office, and auditors.
• Strategic advisory: Translate variance insights into actionable recommendations for senior management.
