Job summary

Phyton Talent Advisors seeks a Financial Regulatory Reporting Associate with a solid background in financial accounting and U.S. regulatory reporting. You will prepare and reconcile regulatory filings, ensure alignment with evolving standards, and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with BI tools like Alteryx or Power BI. Banking/regulatory knowledge and Big 4 exposure are highly advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • BI tools such as Alteryx or Power BI a plus.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory/reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of financial products (loans, deposits, securities, derivatives).
  • Big 4 or large regional firm experience (banking/capital markets) preferred.
  • US CPA, CFA or equivalent license is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare regulatory reports daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually and ad-hoc (FR Y-15, FR Y-9C, FFIEC 031, FFIEC 002, FFIEC 009, FFIEC 019, FR2644, FR2900).
  • Reconcile reporting data to GL and perform variance analysis.
  • Incorporate regulatory updates into reports per new instructions/standards.
  • Maintain/update procedure docs for regulatory requirements.
  • Track tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support management and team members.

Job description

We’re looking for a Financial Regulatory Reporting Associate with a strong background in financial accounting and U.S. regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual and ad-hoc regulatory reports including, but not limited to, Federal Reserve reports (e.g. FR Y-15, FR Y-9C, FFIEC 031, FFIEC 002, FFIEC 009, FFIEC 019, FR2644, and FR2900,), Department of Treasury reports (TIC Reports), and Department of Commerce reports (e.g. BE-605, BE-15, and BE-125)
  • Reconcile reporting data to GL, validation of static data and perform variance analysis
  • Ensure that changes in the reporting instructions and accounting standards made by the regulatory authorities are incorporated within the reports submitted
  • Assist in maintaining and updating procedure documentations related to new and existing regulatory requirements to ensure firm’s compliance
  • Keep track of each assigned tasks and projects, and meet each deadline
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across organization
  • Support management and team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Accounting major is preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in BI tools such as Alteryx or Power Bi is a plus
  • Working knowledge of regulatory reporting or financial reporting
  • Basic knowledge of financial products (e.g. loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, money market products, repos etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Big 4 or large regional accounting firms (banking or capital market clients), financial accounting, product control or regulatory reporting area, experiences in banking is required
  • US CPA, CFA or equivalent license is a big plus
