BCforward seeks a Financial Reporting Analyst in Boston for a 12-month contract to deliver accurate fund statements and regulatory filings on schedule. You will coordinate cross-functional workflows, review expenses, and support the Fund Administration Manager with board books and procedures manuals.

Required are 3–5 years of mutual fund accounting and strong knowledge of GAAP, the Investment Company Act, and the IRS Code, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of mutual fund accounting or related mutual fund experience, including 1–2 years of financial reporting.
• Knowledge of GAAP, Investment Company Act of 1940, Regulation S-X, and the Internal Revenue Code as they relate to funds.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving ability with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects in a client-driven, deadline-oriented environment.

Responsabilités

• Draft annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements and Forms N-SAR, N-Q24F-2, and N-CSR for registered investment companies, including timetable calendars.
• Prepare fund expense proformas, review expenses and accruals, and coordinate accrual adjustments with clients and the financial reporting team.
• Prepare fund expense invoices for authorization and review.
• Support Fund Administration Manager with board book and procedures manual preparation.
• Report and communicate performance data to fund management and industry publications.
• Develop and maintain familiarity with the Investment Company Act of 1940, Internal Revenue Code, GAAP, Regulation S-X, and related disclosure requirements.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting funds.
• Communicate status, timetables, and workflow with the Financial Reporting Team Leader, Supervisor, and broader team.
• Execute special projects as directed.
• Assist in reviewing work completed by junior staff and support the development of the Financial Administration Group, including European offices as applicable.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of EDGAR and Merill Reports.
• Evaluate and suggest enhancements to Eagle/OMEGA and Merill Reports to automate financial reporting and compliance procedures.

The candidate will have experience in registered investment company financial reporting, fund accounting, and regulatory filings and a proven ability to deliver accurate financial statements and filings on schedule while coordinating cross-functional workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience. Business-related concentration preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of mutual fund accounting or related mutual fund experience, including 1 to 2 years of financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, Investment Company Act of 1940, Regulation S-X, and the Internal Revenue Code as they relate to funds.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven problem-solving ability with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects in a client-driven, deadline-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EDGAR and Merill Reports.
• Familiarity with Eagle/OMEGA or similar fund accounting systems.

Work Arrangement & Hours

Hybrid schedule. Three days in office and two days from home per week. Weekly hours not to exceed 40. Contract-only engagement. No temp-to-perm conversion.
