Job summary

Opportune LP seeks a Financial Reporting Accountant in Houston to support month-end close and prepare timely financial statements for clients. The role focuses on journal entries, reporting, variance analysis, and close support.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 2+ years in finance/reporting (oil & gas or public accounting a plus), strong communication, and proficiency with Excel; hybrid schedule and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Job description

The Financial Reporting Accountant will serve as a key member of the Financial Reporting team and will be responsible for assisting with the month-end close process, and the preparation of timely financial statements for clients. This position is in our Houston office with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following (as needed):

• Support and prepare required accounting journal entries
• Develop reports and provide analysis for clients and staff
• Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis and account reconciliations
• Support the financial reporting close process

Qualifications

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the finance and reporting related activities. Experience within the Oil & Gas value chain or Public Accounting will be a plus.
• Must have strong professional presence and effective verbal/written communication.
• Exceptional time-management, planning and administrative skills are required.
• Proficiency with BOLO and Excel is preferred.
