Job description

Are you a seasoned financial professional with a knack for managing complex IT infrastructure projects? Join our team as a Financial Project Manager and play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy for Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to blend financial expertise with project management to ensure the success of critical I&O projects, from cloud migrations to cybersecurity enhancements.
Duration: 12+ months
Location: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid – Bi-weekly reporting to the NYC office)
Interview Process: Video and On-Site

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Prepare, manage, and analyze budgets for I&O programs using tools like Excel, Power BI, and Oracle BI.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and long-term planning.
  • Reconcile actuals with forecasts and track POET numbers using Oracle BI.

2. Reporting and Insights

  • Create and present financial reports, including variance analysis, to stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights to I&O teams for informed decision-making.

3. Project Financial Support

  • Support I&O projects, including network upgrades, cloud migrations, data center builds, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to review financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist in project planning, specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.

4. Leadership and Compliance

  • Lead IT infrastructure projects to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project deliverables and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
I&O Initiatives You’ll Support
  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Financial planning for network hardware and software enhancements.
  • Cloud Migration: Budgeting and cost analysis for transitioning to cloud platforms.
  • Data Center Optimization: Financial oversight for projects focused on efficiency and cost savings.
  • Cybersecurity Enhancements: Support budgeting for initiatives to protect IT assets and data.
  • Operational Efficiency: Evaluate financial performance of initiatives aimed at improving efficiency across I&O.

This is an hourly position with opportunity for overtime.

Financial and Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis, especially for IT infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Oracle BI/SAP, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of network diagrams, circuit ordering, and data center/IT operations is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex financial information effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments, especially with technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in financial analysis, preferably in IT environments.
  • Certifications: PMP certification or extensive project management experience is highly desirable.
