Driving senior candidate intelligence across the financial services sector, this independent contractor role is central to mapping C-suite talent pools and executing targeted executive search strategies. Operating within an established firm specialising in on-demand C-suite leadership for UK regulated financial institutions (FCA & PRA), the successful specialist will lead headhunting initiatives and verify regulatory standing. This contract role offers a high-impact opportunity to deliver precision sourcing across banking, asset management, wealth management, and fintech sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Mapping & Intelligence: Execute comprehensive competitor mapping by structuring organizational charts, leadership teams, and executive talent pools across UK banks, wealth management, asset management, and fintech firms.
• Targeted Sourcing & Headhunting: Direct headhunting campaigns utilising LinkedIn Recruiter, UK financial databases, and advanced Boolean search techniques to engage passive executive candidates within niche sub-sectors.
• Regulatory & Compliance Verification: Validate prospective executive hires against the FCA Financial Services Register to verify current, historical, and compliance standings.
• Qualification & Benchmark Screening: Screen senior leadership talent against UK benchmark standards, including RDR Level 4/6 (DipPFS, DipFA, IMC, CFA, ACA/ACCA) and Competent Adviser Status (CAS).
• SM&CR Assessment: Conduct in-depth competency evaluations for senior candidates operating under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, aligning candidate backgrounds to specific Senior Management Functions (e.g., SMF1, SMF2, SMF4, SMF5, SMF16, SMF17, SMF24).
• Executive Screening: Lead structured phone and video assessment interviews evaluating technical competency, notice periods, remuneration requirements, reasons for leaving, and "Fit and Proper" standards.
• Pipeline & Data Integrity: Maintain organized candidate pipelines within the recruitment CRM/ATS while preparing comprehensive executive shortlists and regulatory summaries for key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of talent resourcing or executive recruitment experience specifically focused on the UK Financial Services sector (agency or in-house).
• Regulatory Expertise: Working knowledge of UK regulatory bodies (FCA and PRA), Consumer Duty requirements, and the SM&CR framework.
• Qualification Literacy: Proven understanding of relevant UK professional certifications across Asset Management, Wealth Management, Banking, Risk, and Compliance (e.g., CII/PFS, CISI, CFA, ICA).
• Executive Engagement: Demonstrated capability to engage, qualify, and assess senior executives and C-suite leaders confidently.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English with refined interviewing, screening, and rapport-building capabilities.
