Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accounting intern in Chicago to support journal entry preparation, analysis, and reconciliations. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager on strategic projects and monitor loan portfolio performance using SQL-based data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Incoming or current senior in an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree Program in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, follow through to completion, and present conclusions of analysis to senior management in an organized and thoughtful manner.
• Experience with SQL or other relational database tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, financial statement analysis and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile high-volume cash transactions and research reconciling items in loan management system.
• Assist in streamlining accounting processes and procedures.
• Support Accounting Manager with strategic projects.
• Track real-time performance of the loan portfolio using SQL-based data visualization tools.
• Support team members within the Accounting team.
• Work on real projects that move the business forward.
