Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accounting intern in Illinois to support fiscal year-end and monthly closings. You will help prepare reconciliations, cost analyses, and schedules for the annual audit, while learning end-to-end processes and cost modeling.

The role requires working toward a bachelor’s in accounting or related field, strong Excel/SharePoint skills, and US work authorization. No visa sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• In-process of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting or related field
• Highly organized and willing to learn end-to-end process improvement skills
• Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures
• Self-motivated, team player, detail oriented
• Able to meet required deadlines
• Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SharePoint
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

• Assist with fiscal year-end activities and month-end closings
• Complete account reconciliations
• Assist in generating schedules for the fiscal year-end audit
• Review actual-to-budget results and provide explanations for variances
• Assist in setting standard product costs and analyzing changes
• Update transfer prices in SAP
• Assist with cost modeling and make/buy decisions
