Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements resulting from those actions. Our team operates in a fast-paced environment, utilizing cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

• Actively seek out new areas for potential improvement, analyze details to find root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost savings, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to track progress, and report savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to identify trends, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on actions to improve results.
• Create automated dashboards in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by understanding business processes and working with Operations and IT teams.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and the impact of business actions on financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive results through data insights.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Ability to provide recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Additional Information
