Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on Ryder's fleet of 150,000 vehicles. The team aims to optimize asset management strategies to maximize profitability and collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Seek out new areas for potential improvement, analyze root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost savings, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and communicate savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to identify trends, determine cause-and-effect, and advise on improvement actions.
• Create automated Power BI reports to communicate performance metrics and identify areas for operational improvement.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness by working with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data handling.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and how business actions affect financial statements.
• Proven ability to leverage data insights to drive business results.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Ability to provide recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, including in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.

Additional Information
