Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements resulting from those actions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision making across the organization.

Remote Work: From Home

Essential Functions

• Actively seek out new areas of potential improvement, drill into details to identify root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports to track progress, and report savings to senior leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to discover trends, analyze profitability changes, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated performance reports in Power BI to communicate metrics and highlight improvement areas to operations management.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data processing and storage.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and understanding of how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for uncovering solutions in large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to provide recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related fields.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
