Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on Ryder's 150,000 vehicles to optimize asset management strategies and maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision-making organization-wide.

Essential Functions

1. Seek out new improvement opportunities and analyze root causes of problems, questioning assumptions and driving continuous improvement.
2. Identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and communicate savings to senior leadership.
3. Mine data using SQL to discover trends, analyze cause-and-effect, and advise on potential business actions.
4. Create automated Power BI reports to communicate performance metrics and highlight improvement areas.
5. Ensure data integrity by collaborating with Operations and IT to understand business processes and data handling.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as R or Python.
• Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of business impacts on financial statements.
• Proven ability to leverage data insights to drive business results.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Ability to make recommendations to senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, including in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Engineering.
