Job summary

MedCura Health is seeking a compassionate Financial Counselor to guide patients through insurance coverage, payment options, and financial assistance programs. You will explain benefits, provide cost estimates, and help patients set up affordable payment arrangements while ensuring compliance with policies.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high patient volumes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of medical front office experience.
  • 1-2 years billing/coding experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in customer service.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and customer service.
  • Excellent phone.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm patients’ insurance coverage, explain benefits, and clarify out-of-pocket costs before or during treatment.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for procedures and help patients set up payment arrangements or apply for financial assistance programs.
  • Assess patients’ financial situations to determine eligibility for aid such as Medicaid, charity programs, or government subsidies.
  • Assist with completing financial forms, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies and legal regulations.
  • Act as the patient’s advocate by answering billing questions, resolving concerns, and coordinating with social workers or case managers when needed.
  • Work closely with departments like enabling services, billing, and care coordination to ensure smooth financial processing and patient satisfaction.
