Addison Group is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in Phoenix to recruit Financial Counselors and a Lead Financial Counselor for an on-site Patient Financial Services team. The roles focus on helping patients understand insurance coverage, financial options, and anticipated costs while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

The Lead role includes guiding teammates, handling escalations, and enhancing daily workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Financial Counselor experience in healthcare.
• Experience with AHCCCS/Medicaid and commercial insurance.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy.
• Leadership or mentoring experience for Lead candidates.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls from patients and families regarding coverage, eligibility, and financial assistance programs.
• Research payer resources including Medicaid/AHCCCS and commercial options.
• Provide accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility and explain payment options.
• Review insurance benefits and eligibility to support access to care.
• Assist patients with applications and enrollment for coverage programs.
• Escalate complex financial/insurance concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain detailed documentation in electronic systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, carriers, and community resources to resolve issues.
• Lead candidates will support team operations, assist escalations, and contribute to workflow improvements.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Occasional weekend coverage and rotating holiday availability may be required
• 100% onsite position

These individuals will play a critical role in helping patients and families understand insurance coverage, financial assistance options, and anticipated healthcare costs while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

We are seeking motivated Financial Counselors who are passionate about helping patients navigate healthcare financial processes. This role involves assisting patients with insurance-related questions, identifying available coverage resources, discussing financial obligations, and working collaboratively with internal departments to ensure a positive patient experience.

The Lead Financial Counselor will also provide guidance to team members, assist with escalated situations, and support daily operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to incoming calls from patients and families regarding coverage, eligibility, and financial assistance programs

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of Financial Counselor experience within a healthcare setting
• Experience working with AHCCCS, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy
• Leadership or mentoring experience for Lead candidates

Preferred:

• Experience with patient access, eligibility verification, or financial clearance processes
• Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and payer guidelines
• Experience using healthcare registration or financial systems
