Job summary

Ryan Homes, an NVR brand, seeks a Financial Cost Manager to provide financial and operational expertise for the homebuilding division. You will support the Division Manager in controlling construction costs, profitability, and cost systems while collaborating with production and corporate teams to drive improvements.

You will update pricing information, project costs for new designs, and help standardize costing methods across communities. MBA and construction experience are a plus in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis.
• Ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations.
• Strong budgeting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent problem analysis and problem solving abilities.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
• Experience with large manufacturing or real estate companies is preferred.
• Experience with homebuilding or commercial construction is preferred.
• MBA is preferred.

Job description

As the Financial Cost Manager for Ryan Homes, an NVR brand, you will provide the homebuilding division with financial and operational expertise. You will directly support the Division Manager in establishing, controlling and analyzing homebuilding construction costs and divisional profitability. Working with the Production Manager and their team, you are responsible for managing a comprehensive cost control system to ensure that each home is built within budget and recommend process improvements. Primary Responsibilities

• Support the Division Manager in analyzing and controlling construction costs and maximizing profits for all homes within the Division
• Manage a cost control system that effectively and accurately measures costs and production variances and allows for accurate projections of operating results
• Work with divisional, regional and corporate peers to drive continuous improvement of costs, profitability, processes, and systems, and ensure consistency of costing methods across the company
• Initiate agreements and negotiations with sub-contractors that will maximize value, quality and delivery to NVR and the home buyer
• Update and maintain salespricing and cost information for all active and future communities
• Project costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the overall Division business plan
• Review plans for standardization of components, options, and construction methods

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience of comparable financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis with demonstrated attention to detail
• Able to convert financial analysis into meaningful operational recommendations and drive action and process improvement
• Skilled in budgeting and negotiating
• Exceptional problem analysis and problem solving skills
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced levelis essential
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required
• Relevant costing and analysis experience is desired
• Employment with a large manufacturing or real estate company preferred
• Experience with new home or commercial construction preferred
• MBA preferred

This position pays $XX,000 - $XX,000 per year and may also be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of performance criteria. Individual pay is determined by factors including the candidate’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, and location.
