TransCargo Solutions, based in Miami, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the US, Puerto Rico and Spain entities' accounting and close processes.

You will manage intercompany reconciliations, currency translation, and consolidation drafts, mentor accountants, maintain audit readiness, and partner with external auditors and tax advisors.

This role offers exposure across three countries, ownership of the close, and growth as the finance function scales.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years in accounting, including supervising others
• Full-cycle close under US GAAP in a multi-entity environment
• Experience with entities abroad or via external advisors
• Ability to work independently and still step into the ledger when needed
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish at a professional level
• Solid ERP experience; CargoWise or Sage Intacct a plus
• Advanced Excel with large data sets and reconciliations
• Background in logistics, freight, or distribution is welcome but not required

Responsabilités

• Reviewing the accounting of US, Puerto Rico, and Spain entities, stepping into the ledger when needed
• Monthly close on a fixed calendar; intercompany reconciliations; USD/EUR translation; consolidation drafts
• Enforcing accrual discipline to show real margin
• Prepare budget and forecast, track actuals against budget monthly
• Prepare bank reporting calculations and covenant compliance data
• Weekly cash position and oversight of overhead payments
• Provide data inputs for management reporting (AR aging, delivered-not-invoiced, AP aging, gross margin)
• Supervise and mentor accountants in the US and Spain, including collections work
• Coordinate with AP/AR on billing and vendor payments
• Maintain audit readiness and respond to auditor requests across three countries
• Main point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
• Document processes and internal controls across entities

At TransCargo Solutions, we specialize in logistics for renewable energy, infrastructure and industrial projects, managing freight for projects based in the US and Europe regardless of where our clients are headquartered. With offices in the United States, Puerto Rico and Spain, this is a genuinely international operation. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Financial Controller, reporting to the VP of Finance, to join our team at our Miami headquarters.

Our entities at a glance

• United States: our main operating entity, carrying nearly all of the group's transaction volume. This is where most of the role's day-to-day work sits.
• Puerto Rico: a small entity with a limited client base and low transaction activity.
• Spain: a new entity that began operations in 2026 and is growing. Putting solid controls and close routines in place before volume ramps up is a key priority.

What you'll own

• Reviewing the accounting of our three entities (US, Puerto Rico and Spain), stepping into the ledger yourself when the work calls for it
• Monthly close on a fixed calendar, intercompany reconciliations, USD/EUR translation, and consolidation drafts for a small group
• Enforcing accrual discipline — revenue and the matching carrier cost recognized in the same period, so that reported margin is real margin
• Budget and forecast drafts, and tracking actuals against budget each month
• Preparing bank reporting calculations and covenant compliance data for review by the VP of Finance
• Weekly cash position, preparation of overhead payments, and oversight of operational cash outflows
• Preparing the data inputs for management reporting — AR aging, delivered-not-invoiced, AP aging and gross margin by period — kept current so reporting can be produced without friction
• Supervising, reviewing and mentoring our accountants in the US and Spain, including their collections work
• Coordinating with our AP/AR team on billing and operational vendor payments
• Maintaining audit readiness throughout the year — reconciliations, supporting schedules and the auditor request package kept current, not assembled at year end
• Main point of contact for the external auditors (US, and Spain if applicable) and for our tax advisors across the three countries
• Documenting processes and internal controls, including segregation of duties across the three entities

What we're looking for

• 5 to 7 years in accounting, including at least 2 reviewing or supervising other people's work
• Full-cycle close under US GAAP in a multi-entity environment, with intercompany and multi-currency activity
• Experience with entities abroad, whether as subsidiaries, shared services or through external advisors
• Someone who can run their own workload with review rather than supervision, and who is still willing to get into the ledger and book entries when the team is short-handed
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, at a professional working level in both
• Solid command of ERP systems and the ability to get up to speed on a new one quickly. Experience with CargoWise or Sage Intacct is a plus
• Advanced Excel, with real comfort handling large data sets and reconciliations
• Background in logistics, freight or distribution is welcome but not required

What we offer

$90,000 to $100,000 depending on experience, plus benefits. Exposure across three countries, direct ownership of the close, and room to grow as the finance function does.
