Job summary

Star Service, Inc. in Mobile, AL, is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the accounting team and report to the President. You will oversee AP/AR, manage the close, and guide the staff in GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

The role requires hands-on leadership, process improvements, and strong collaboration with HR and operations in a fast-paced mechanical service environment on the Gulf Coast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with GL, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Experience in a service, trade, or construction-related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close processes including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Supervise invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
