Job summary

Management Recruiters of Zionsville in Lafayette, IN seeks a Financial Controller to lead the Accounting and Finance team and own core accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, month-end close, cash management, AR/AP, internal controls, and compliance.

The role partners with the fractional CFO and executive leadership to improve management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analytics, while optimizing the use of ERP systems and technology across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, cash management and internal controls.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with ability to translate information into insights.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; data-driven mindset.
• CPA, CMA, MBA or other advanced credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close processes and produce GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain general ledger integrity with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reserves.
• Oversee AR, AP, billing, collections, cash receipts, vendor payments, payroll accounting, and related activities.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and debt payments; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate audits and reporting with external auditors and government agencies while maintaining internal controls.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling with executive leadership.
• Provide timely reporting and analysis on department performance, profitability, backlog, and WIP trends.
• Partner with departments on job costing, project billing, revenue recognition, and inventory to improve profitability.
• Own and improve ERP and financial systems; streamline processes to strengthen data integrity and controls.
• Maintain professional knowledge and apply best practices; protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
