Job summary

Randstad Finance & Accounting (Tatum) is partnering with a Norcross client to recruit a Controller/Head of Accounting. The role leads the Accounting team and runs the technical GAAP work onsite five days a week.

You'll oversee AR, AP, month-end close, WIP schedules, bank reconciliations, and quarterly board presentations, partnering with the President to ensure timely close and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• 8–10+ years of progressive GAAP accounting.
• 3–5+ years in construction industry with WIP, job schedules, close processes.
• Experience leading an accounting team.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Sage300 and TimberScan preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting team currently in place.
• Manage AR, including contractor pay apps and Timberline entries.
• Process monthly bank statements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Prepare monthly job cost status reports (WIP).
• Coordinate monthly close with the President by the 20th of the following month.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements for the board.
• Oversee AP and ensure proper job coding.

Randstad Finance & Accounting (Tatum) is partnering with a client in Norcross that provides superior commercial electrical construction and renovation services. This company that is enriched with history is looking to add a Controller/Head of Accounting to help run the technical side of the accounting work while leading the Accounting team. The position is onsite (5 days). The company provides strong benefits, family company culture, and work‑life balance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting team that is currently in place.
• Accounts Receivable – including preparing the contractor pay applications, entering them into Timberline, and managing cash receipts.
• Monthly bank statements.
• Monthly journal entries.
• Monthly job cost status report (WIP schedule).
• Work with the President to ensure all monthly documents are accurate and ready to close by the 20th of the following month.
• Prepare quarterly financial documents to present to the board of directors.
• Oversee AP to make sure everything is entered timely and coded to the jobs correctly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (CPApreferred).
• 8‑10+years' progressive, full‑cycle GAAP accounting.
• 3 to 5+ years of recent construction industry experience, including WIP, job schedules, construction accounting processes, month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close, financial statement preparation and presentation toBoard.
• Experience leading an accounting team.
• MS Office including advancedExcel required; Sage300 (and TimberScan) highly preferred.
